Deepika Padukone, born 5 January 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark, is an Indian model & Actress. She is the daughter of former badminton Champion Prakash Padukone. Her mother tongue is Konkani. In 2006 itself, Deepika made her cinematic debut in the Kannada film Aishwarya opposite actor Upendra. The very next year, Deepika made a successful Bollywood debut with Farah Khan’s blockbuster Om Shanti Om opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
Deepika was then seen romantic comedy Bachna Ae Haseeno opposite Ranbir Kapoor and alongside Bipasha Basu and Minissha Lamba. The film performed reasonably well at the box office.
In 2009, she was once again seen in a double-role along with Akshay Kumar in Chandni Chowk To China. Next she was paired with Saif Ali Khan in Love Aaj Kal. The movie was well received at the box office.
